Scansano is an important historical town in the province of Grosseto, Tuscany. The winery is on a hillside immersed in the Maremma countryside between the sea and the ancient Etruscan town of Saturnia, in a position especially suited for agriculture. The work dedicated to enhancing the already considerable value of viticulture and of olive growing led to the awarding of the DOC qualification to Morellino di Scansano in 1978. In the township of Scansano, at Preselle, the estate “Poggio Morino” is located, consisting of 80 hectares of land cultivated with vines and olive groves. The wine spends 3–4 months in oak casks and after 4 months of bottle refinement it is ready for export.
