The Lamborghini estate lies between the south side of the Trasimeno lake and the beautiful medieval village of Panicale. Situated on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, Cortona is only a few kilometers away.
The property was purchased in the 1970s by Ferruccio Lamborghini who fell in love with the area. After his retirement from the famous Lamborghini automobile company, he decided to go back to his roots: being a farmer. The total area is 100 hectares divided between a 9-hole golf course, an agriturismo, and 32 hectares of vineyards. In the mid 1990s, Patrizia Lamborghini took over the management of the estate pursuing and even strengthening the desire of her father, Ferruccio, to make quality wines. Since then a great part of the vineyards has been replanted. Lamborghini is a name that stands for quality in Italy, and around the world.
The diligent search for quality started with a focus on the characteristics of the terroir and the dramatic improvement of the management of the vineyards in 1977 and thus, the ultimate development of the wines. The result of these efforts brought forth new modern award-winning reds such as Campoleone, Trescone, and recently Torami.
